Summer Employment Opportunities

Position: Ninjas in Nature Summer Camp Instructor

Location : Concord, MA

Dates: Week of July 8, Week of July 15, Week of July 22

Prerequisites:

Online Ninjas in Nature Training -- Completed by May 1

First Aid/CPR Certification – Completed by June 15

Physical within the last 2 years

Vaccination documentation

Position Details

This position involves training, then leading our Level 1NiN Rank Curriculum for 6-10 students age 7-12.  The training phase involves completing the online Level 1 Ninstructor Training Course (as staff under the Umbrella Community Arts Center). Instructors will assist with NiN Spring classes as part of their training, and then co-lead summer camp programs (up to 20 youth) in Concord and Lowell.

Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching and leading outdoor education programs
  • Individual passion for and time spent in the outdoors
  • Excellent youth and parent/adult communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Interest in martial arts or movement art (ex. yoga, tai chi, dance or other). Proficiency not required, but enthusiasm to learn is.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly/weekly pay based on level of experience. Range is $15/hour - $25/hour

Location : Lowell, MA

Dates: Weeks of June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15,

Position: Art & Nature Summer Instructor -- Lowell

Location : Lowell, MA

Dates: Weeks of June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15,

Position Details

This position involves teaching an art and nature curriculum in the Lowell Public Schools four-week, half-day summer program. Drawing either from our database of lesson plans, or creating new ones, the instructor will bring art and nature together in thematic projects. Each project blends science with creative art activities, encouraging the skills of observation, reflection, exploration, and creative play/problem solving. Would be working with youth ages 6-12 at a school site in Lowell. No classes on Fridays.

Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching and/or working with youth.
  • Passion for nature and the outdoors,
  • Classroom management skills
  • Experience with/interest in the arts.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly/weekly pay based on level of experience. Range is $15/hour - $25/hour
